A basketball-inspired clothing brand centered on wristbands and jerseys with an empowerment motif.

Background

I’ve long enjoyed wearing wristbands as accessories so I wanted to create a brand concept around a logo designed for a wristband.

It’s often said that the best offense is a good defense. In basketball, the ultimate defensive move is the block—a.k.a the rejection. One who rejects is a rejector. First, I took the eject symbol and added an extra line to create the reject symbol. Then, I altered the the spelling for aesthetic and symbolic symmetry and Rejecter was born.

The Rejecter jerseys feature the number 17, a nod to the NBA record for most blocked shots in a game, set by Elmore Smith of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1973.
